The New Mexico Counseling Association

NMCA ANNUAL CONFERENCE (rescheduled – see below for more details)
***COVID-19 Updates***

LATEST UPDATE POSTED 3/12/2020

The safety of our conference attendees, members, partners, client population, and staff is New Mexico Counseling Association’s top priority. On March 11, 2020 the WHO declared a COVID-19, coronavirus global pandemic and New Mexico’s Governor declared a public health crisis and advised residents to avoid large crowds.

***The NMCA 2020 Conference has been rescheduled****

The new dates are Friday, July 31-Saturday August 1, 2020. The conference will continue to be held at The Embassy Suites. All conference registrations will be honored for the new dates.

Embassy Suites has asked that attendees call to cancel their reservations and they will be able to book under the new date block at the same rate. Please call the Embassy Suites at 505-245-7100 or 1-800-362-2779 before March 17, 2020.

We have extended the conference cancelation deadline date: April 30, 2020 for a full refund. No refunds due to weather or natural disasters. To request a refund please contact Nathan Hoge, Executive Director at ed@nmca-nm.org. Please know that we are responding to all cancellation requests as quickly as possible. Once a refund is processed on our end it may take up to 72 hours for the transaction to be credited.

We will be coordinating and contacting speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and other stakeholders regarding the date change in the upcoming days/weeks. It is our goal to bring the same quality of presenters and same number of CE Hours offered for the new dates.

I want to thank the conference planning committee and executive board for all their hard work to come to a decision from a public health lens and ensure the health of NMCA members/conference attendees and the population whom we all serve in the community. We have chosen dates for the conference prior to the deadline for NM Therapy and Practice Board license renewals, so the continuing education credits will be counted prior to the September deadline.

Any new updates will be sent out via email and posted here and to our events page at www.nmca-nm.org/events

Very Truly,

Liz Daniels, MA, LPCC

President NMCA, 2019-2020
